For the Harry Potter fans who knows that the books are full of fantastic quotes, let's have some fun, shall we?

The Asker gives a quote that someone says somewhere in one of the seven Harry Potter books (Films do NOT count), and your job is to guess who said it and in what book.

Wait for confirmation from the asker, and then the first person to get it right brings forth the next quote.

NOTE! The quotes should be specific enough to be possible to associate to one person and book, if you know your HP. :)

First quote: Who said it, and in what book?

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

Please note these extra rules added in 29 April 2013 (Second part tweaked 3 may 2013)

:ginny: Only use the quote of one character

:hermioneread: We would prefer you to keep the number of sentences in a quote to one, (a partial sentence is OK too), but we will understand if you occasionally need to use more for clarity. If you really need to use more than a couple of sentences, we just ask that you keep your quote short.

Happy gaming   :hogwartsc:.

ETA: Making this post up to date.
ETA 2: Clarified the newest amendment further.

Dumbledore said this in Chamber of Secrets.

Now for the next quote. Who said this and in what book?

I was hoping that Neville would assist me with the first stage of the operation

Remus Lupin, POA (On the Boggart display)

Who said this, in what book:

- yet, sadly, accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often.

Dumbledore said it in Half-Blood Prince.

Who said this and in what book?

Well then, you'll know he's so arrogant that criticism simply bounces off him.

Snape said it about Harry in Order of the Phoenix.

Who said this, and in what book?

"I think you've had enough to drink, Hagrid."

Ron said it in GoF to his owl Pig. ;D

Who said it and in in which book?

Personally, I'd have welcomed a dementor attack.  A deadly struggle for my soul would have broken the monotony nicely.

Sirius Black in OOTP (having been cooped up in Grimmauld Place too long).

And last time I looked, he was definitely one boy, not five.

Ginny Weasley in HBP, referring to her boyfriend Dean Thomas.

Who said it and in in which book?

Don't worry.  You're just as sane as I am.

Luna Lovegood to Harry in OOTP (on him seeing the Thestrals). Seeing as she read The Quibbler upside down this wasn't as reassuring as it should have been!  :D

Yeah, you'll be betting I'll win my fight...

It was Ron (GoF, making fake predictions for Trelawney's homework)
That was tricky!  :D

Taking a wild guess: Harry Potter in PS/SS, in The Leaky Cauldron on his first visit with Hagrid?

HealerOne stretches up her hand in a Hermione- style and waves - That was in Book seven, The Epilogue. Albus Severus said this to his father and the family - including Ron who brashily says it's because he is very famous!
